OUR LEGACY
APRIL 2023
Urban pantry is now proudly owned and run by Tyson Mercan. Originally from Turkey, Tyson has a rich background in hospitality. After marrying his British wife in 2003, he moved to England and successfully ran three restaurants in London before making Urban Pantry his new adventure in 2023. Tyson is passionate about crafting delicious dishes using the finest ingredients and loves the vibrant community of Chiswick.
JULY 2021
In 2021, the cafe was bought by avid Urby P customer Crystal Eisinger. Leaving the corporate world of Google behind, Crystal wanted to combine her love for Urban Pantry with her passion for food to carry on the legacy that the Chiswick institution has created, as well as to create a space to not just enjoy brunch, but come together as a community.
DECEMBER 2015
Founded by Leith’s School of Food and Wine-trained Kate Frobisher, Urban Pantry has thrived ever since, winning Best Brunch Place in Chiswick' at the TimeOut Awards and claiming Best Breakfast of the Year at the 2019 National Breakfast Awards to be put firmly on the London foodie map.
